Caring for your olive wood:
Hand wash only, you should not put your olive wood item (or any other wooden item) in a dishwasher. Do not leave soaking in water; this will permanently damage the wood.
To prevent the wood from drying out occasionally wipe over with a soft cloth soaked in oil. We recommend a light mineral oil or ‘butchers oil’. You may also use a light vegetable oil. Olive oil may be used but will make the wood darker and sticky over a period of time.
Do not expose to heat or direct sunlight, do not keep near a central heating radiator, or store in a hot area.
Olive wood is a natural product, some of the wood from which our items are manufactured is hundreds of years old. These items will have knots, small natural cracks etc. This particularly applies to our rustic items. Over a period of time the bark on rustic items will peel away. This is a natural process and will not affect the item.
Most of our range are made by hand, not by machine, so there will be a variation in size and shape of each item. This gives olive wood its unique character.
